My in-car thermostat likes to read high. When the actual ambient air temp is 72, the car says it’s 76. I mean, it’s not a big deal to just set the system for 76, but you know... it would be nice to be correct. Has anyone ever heard of any way to calibrate the thing?
It’s an Infiniti.

It could be the temperature sensor is somewhere like the bumper where it reads excess heat radiating off the road. I remember I had a 2012 F250 for work and it had two temp gauges. One in the dash and one in the mirror, they were usually about 2 degrees apart, I think it’s because they used sensors in different location, possibly one in the bumper and one on the intake.

My trip computer likes to tell my my average mpg is 2-3 higher than it actually is. You know how I fix it? I just subtract 2 in my head.

Mine is about 2MPG LOWER than both DashCommand and Gas Cubby tell me. The math is no problem, it’s just miiiidly annoying.

If you find that bad then for the love of god don’t put a gps speed app on your phone and compare it to the speedo at 65mph.
